Dora Žmuc is a medical doctor with a BSc in Economics with years of experience with working in clinical practice. She successfully completed the Harvard Medical School postgraduate program in Safety, Quality, Informatics and Leadership in healthcare and is one of the co-founders of a German healthtech startup providing digital solutions for patients undergoing major surgery. She is the author and co-author of several scientific articles and papers about digital health solutions and their importance in providing safer, more efficient and higher quality patient care. Her focus working as a product manager in Better is to help build a product that helps clinicians to work in a more safe and efficient way and to provide patient-centered care that improves their outcomes and overall satisfaction.

Product Designer, Better Meds
Silvija is a design lead with experience across multiple domains, from back-office tools to complex workflow applications. She is a passionate design advocate, promoting the use of design systems to create consistent and scalable products. She recently gave a speech at the European Design Awards 2025 on designing products for healthcare. At Better, she leads the design of Better Meds’ mobile app, creating intuitive interfaces that surface the right information at the right moment, reduce cognitive load, and support safer, more efficient care. By collaborating closely with users, she ensures her designs solve real-world challenges while enhancing the experience for both clinicians and patients.

Charles Lake,
MD, Product Specialist, Better
Charles is a Product Specialist at Better and a practising emergency medicine doctor in the NHS. He has successfully completed clinical fellowships with Patchwork Health and Bitelabs, strengthening his experience in workforce optimisation, digital transformation, and user-centred product development. Combining clinical insight with digital innovation, he is passionate about empowering clinicians and improving patient care through better-designed health technology.
